After each "flower" finished I found my heartbeat a bit accelerated  Grin
I wouldn't have expected it only looking at the game screenshot!

There was a crash near the end of the 4th flower, coitus interruptus...

I am happy Little Inferno got an award but in a category which does not encompass what I thought what was special about it...

It touched an interesting spot between playful joy and guilt  Smiley

Many themes started crossing my mind only while I was not actually playing.
I find that they dealt with the hypnotic power of the "fire frenzy" in a very effective way.

Thank you for sharing David.

It made me think about how I give for granted that light is cast to reveal distant details. In fact I was surprised when I directed the light toward the camera and found there were bushes also near the point of view.

Maybe it was the sensation of the 4th wall abruptly shifted, you invaded the safe dark zone in front of the camera Smiley

Perhaps I could invite Jake Elliot to be a part of this community?

I think it would be really interesting if he joined the conversation!

If we're to be technical, it's more a notgame than many so-called notgames.

That's true also of its "spin off" Limits and Demonstrations.

Well, it figures (part two). Yes, it did, ACT 1 was released in January. I thoroughly recommend it.

I found Kentucky Route Zero enchanting.

It's interesting that as the authors were developing it they gradually abandoned gamey elements (mainly platforming and old style adventure puzzles) until there practically wasn't any one left.
To see how detrimental they would have been you just have to watch the kickstarter trailer where the characters were jumping over chasms...

And would the positive emotions brought on by playing the game clash with those in the content?
I think they would cheapen them.

I find that the capacity of the medium to make you feel present in a world is enough to amplify the positive emotions of the content, as much as the "negative" ones like fear or sadness.

As a home made case history the happiest, more joyful moments I remember of my wife playing a game are:
- chasing the jumping rabbit-like animal in Proteus
- watching the girl in white dress in the Path play with one of the younger sisters
- approaching the best points of view from which to watch the scenery in Dear Esther

Will there be also a Windows beta?
Feedback from the other side of the fence... Smiley

Wow, playing with a real person on the "other side" felt more intense than expected!

During the simulation wine and cigarettes seemed mostly cosmetic to me, but yesterday they ended up being an essential part of the experience.

...also I feel the need to buy filter-less Gauloises Smiley

I often refer to our games as tools for self-exploration. But that sounds very vague and dry and presumptuous.

Yes, it's seems to fall into the category of things only others are allowed to say about your work.

And somehow it was an oddly intimate experience - it felt like we talked (in a very abstract way, of course) about things we wouldn't have been able to talk about outside Bientot, or at least not with the same degree of honesty. It was like a masquerade that, paradoxically, allowed us to be extremely truthful. Or maybe it was like a mediator?

I find this is one of the most interesting (and for me more important) aspects of the game, also something I wouldn't have expected reading the description of the gameplay!

Hello Cyprien,
Wow, Genecraft-project is really fascinating!

Are the genomes also associated with creatures' behaviours?

I quickly lost the interest in Spore after discovering that it doesn't really matter how you phisically shape your creature, as the significant choices are reduced to the stats affected by the different body parts.
Promised alien worlds' wonders replaced by RPG stats...

Your supervisor's kid was right Smiley

At the begin I try to "teach" the viewer to relate a voice to an image, so that later in the film the viewer will do this even if I do not match the musical changes to the film changes 1:1 ...

I think it kind of works. At times I got the sensation that images were directly producing the music, quite intense.
The problem I think is it that our treshold of tolerance for repetitions of images is much lower than for repetitions of music. For me the visual aspect shiftes often from beeing involving to beeing... repetitive Smiley

I find that the visual effects you add later do work. The video gets hypnotic, making it easier to remain into it.
