It just puts you in a very awkward (to say the least) position and then lets you decide what to do. It is quite fun/disturbing/thrilling replaying and trying out different things to do. Also note that the game as a certain element of chance, which I think further enhances the experience. It is also a games where you are meant to get immersed in the situation rather than just try and beat it.
