Hi all. I'm an australian media and games design student studying at swinburne university in australia. My areas of interest are exploring play behavior, game construction at a low behavioral level, Boardgames and tactile feedback in play, learning and formation of knowledge, technology and AI and cooking. Oh yes, love that cooking.

I've chosen to dedicate myself to true, strict games design and thus haven't been learning much technical stuff to date. I have just begun learning C/C++ via a friend and various online open university courses and I have been learning to draw by process of experimentation for three or so years now.

I write a comic to force myself to draw and write every day, you can find it here:
http://www.herointrainingcomic.com/

I've also recently started a blog for the amusement and education of one of the starcraft 2 communities online at TL.net, you can see that here, though it's a bit lower brow due to the audience:

My third year design project was Domineer, an abstract strategy boardgame aiming to see if I could render some aspects of digital strategy in a boardgame. You can view and download the rulebook and a very simple ASCII implementation of the game here:

Domineer is licenced under (cc). You are free to use it as you see fit, commerically or non commercially, with proper attribution.

That's about it for now, look forward to talking to y'all :)

Welcome!

Now I'm curious: what brings a dedicated game designer to a place devoted to doing everything except games?  :D

Check my thread in the notgames forum and you may see the reasons. I design games, not games ^^
