Sounds a lot better to me anyway, because the toy will not distract the player from the poetry as much as a game can.

Why would the toy distract the player from the poetry at all?  That statement seems to suggest that interaction is still standing in the way of narrative, just not as much as gameplay does.

Welcome Smiley

I can't wait to at least see some screens of what you're working on, once you're ready.

Yeah, I enjoyed this, too.  It's basically an adventure game that tells a story through atmosphere.  There's not a lot to it, but I think they were able to create a lot of emotion without much in terms of technology.  I was impressed by that.

Hey Dan!  Great to see you here.  I hope I get a chance to play Dear Esther some day...

Hey, thanks!  I like your blog, too.  I just found it after seeing your comment on Greg's post.  I hope to dig into it more soon.

Hi Andrew.  I look forward to seeing your contributions.  Smiley
322  General / Introductions / Hello on: January 12, 2010, 08:32:25 AM
Hi, my name is Josh.  I'm a human being who loves adventure, learning, dreaming, seeking truth, and the act of creation.  I also love people, Jesus, and good food. Smiley  I try to mix all those things together into spiritual game development as a vocation and adventure/academics/faith in my personal life.

And I don't like oppression, which is why I work as an independent as part of the Intuition Games collective.

I feel passionately about progressing interactive experience into a deeply affecting emotional and even spiritual experience.  And I think game-like rule systems could potentially hold back that progress.  So I'm here to help figure out whether or not that's true.
