I am on a videogame hiatus, too. Started painting again. It is really refreshing to work with paint instead of working
with logic. Even when creating an artistic game, it is still working 90% with logic and 10% being artistic in the moment to moment process.

I don't like it when a game presents me 2 choices, like kill the puppy or let it live happy.
Or any other choices. I don't care about choices. They are superficial, I feel.

I want the game to present me to dilemmas like the trolley problem.

I read the Walking Deads books way before it became big through the TV Show and the game...
I played 2 episodes and I lost a bit interest. It gave me the same mood, feeling, that the
books did. So it was more of the same... it was not different enough, even with interactivity...
So I am fine with the books... the game is replicating the books

also I read a few interviews, where he explained the reasoning behind
Black Rainbow. As a kid, he was not allowed to watch R rated movies
but he could study the VHS covers... So, Black Rainbow is a re-imagining
of those films. That might lead to a split-personality of a movie...

boy, you say so  It took me more than 10 years to watch L'annee derriere a Marienbad... and
it is now my favourite film of all time. New ideas take time. And each generation
needs time to get used to new ideas... it takes time. Slow but steady work will do the trick

I have watched the early George Lucas of THX 1138 (and his student film on the same theme). It is Star Wars without the crap.
The sounds and visuals are wonderful, almost an abstract movie. Star Wars was the mass market application of THX 1138.

Star Wars I was enough. Lucas should have moved on, but he was hit by fame. He might have done great work, but fame was
intercepting.

I dislike modernism

You mean you do not like the works of Francis Bacon, John Cage, Bunuel, Picasso, Greenaway, Robert Wilson, Meredith Monk,
Goddard, Oskar Fischinger, Strawinski, Duchamp etc...? I am not that deep into art theory. I like 20ths century art more than
the art from the 19th century (for example).

On the other hand I know what you mean. I was recently in Amsterdam. The new museum for modern art opened (the bathtub).
I could not bring myself to pay 17€ for modern, exhibited art. I took a glance at the catalog and it was quite
boring.

I would not put all contempory artists in one corner. Also, I still do not know what modernism is supposed to mean.

Stalin and Hitler were "great" connoisseurs de l'art. They knew exactly what was good art and what was bad art and acted
accordingly.

I would not want to put myself in those shoes.
