Welcome!
I like your visual style: colors and textures.

We're celebrating our 10 year anniversary with a bundle of experiments and prototypes created over the past decade, including The Brdge, initiated on this very forum! Get it here: http://tale-of-tales.com/anniversary.

Our most gamey game ever has just been released: http://luxuria-superbia.com/.
Costs practically nothing. But email us for a free download link.

Haha. Yes. This game is hard to represent in pictures or video. It messes up our marketing.

Pity you had a crash. But the final version will be a standalone application. That will be more stable.

Thanks for playing!
Do spread the word!
Luxuria Superbia is launching tomorrow!

The rumblepad's button and joysticks have different numbers. This can be configured in the standalone version but not in the web version. For that one you need an XBox controller.

Needs some way to configure the controls, but I assume that won't be a problem in the full release since the Unity Desktop app has that splash screen with control configures. As it is now I can't play it on my controller, since some button is configured as left analog stick so I constantly touch left, resulting in a very premature "orgasm".

Yes the controls are configurable in the full release.

Unfortunately, it seems to crash after the first flower if I don't complete it properly. It did the same thing after the second flower.

Would you mind testing a standalone build on your computer?

I'll try again on a real computer when I'm home.

Seems to work in Mercury on iPad.
It's funny. Thanks!
41  General / Check this out! / Re: Would you playtest my videogame? (after The Cat and the Coup) on: October 11, 2013, 10:56:26 PM
I finally played it! Downloaded it again today.

I must say that I'm impressed. And I'm not quite sure why. The game feels very mysterious. But also smart and funny. I played it my tv in the living room. I'll try again at my desk where it will probably feel more comfortable (the joystick controls didn't work for me).

Is the loose graphic style the direction you're going for? Or is it placeholder?
I'm not sure what style I would like for this game but I'd like to know before commenting further.

I like the flow of the game, the repetition. Reading all the smart quotes is amusing. Combining them with the banal love and hate messages is funny. I like the feeling of traveling through memory, like fulfilling wishes like "if only I had said this or that" or "if only I could go back in time". The game feels very sincere, while there is also room for whimsy.

I'm still a little bit surprised that I liked it so much. I don't care much for the graphics. References to platform games tend to bore me. And the interaction is quite absurd. But still I feel fascinated. I'm really curious where you will take this.

Virtual reality will make architecture the new punk rock.

Haha. Indeed. Architecture is far more relevant to videogames than film or any other narrative fiction. Although of course everything can be inspiring.

This does remind me of my cyberpunk reading days. I would be curious to live that fantasy. I wonder if you will also include the sense of the transgressive and illegal that those spaces had. Sex? Drugs? Black market? Danger?

I also wonder about the art on display. Because I imagine that people who visit this virtual space would be particularly interested in interactive art, not necessarily in pretty pictures on the walls. Are there any parallels with Sony's Home environment, which functions as a hub to acces, basically, interactive commercials? Will there be holo-suites?
